Last Saturday morning was a beautiful day in New York City, sunny, warm with a nice breeze flowing thru the skyscrapers. On my way to Rockefeller Center, I crossed Times Square, and what a crossing it was! Already plenty of people in motion, lights, shimmering screens, music, voices all over, I walked in short steps, then stops, changed sidewalks twice , as it felt like the crowd would swallow me, electrifying sensation of being in different world!
I was happy to emerge intact, definitely I needed a pause and a coffee… Just there on 50th and 7 Avenue, (Avenue des Americas), I found the shady terrace of a Au Bon Pain Cafe’. It was quiet, almost empty, just few New Yorkers, sipping coffee, simply enjoying the morning while reading their newspapers.
I have to admit I went in just for a cup of coffee and a shady corner but I could not resist to these ‘torcetti’ with cream and chocolate chips, smiling at me from their shelf. So crusty but soft, only 240 calories, just perfect!
Here they are, I thought of all of you,I wanted to share and if you ever stumbled on some at Au Bon Pain, even more in New York City, do not pass the pleasure of eating them!!!
